We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a junior HSE Engineer to join their team in Motherwell on a 12-month contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated HSE professional to contribute to a forward-thinking organisation that prioritises safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As an HSE Engineer, you will support the implementation and maintenance of company HSE policies to ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. You will also assist in the design and development of safe work areas and practices, and help drive the development of environmental and safety documentation and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of HSE policies and procedures in line with regulations

  • Contribute to the development of safe work environments and operating procedures

  • Maintain and update HSE documentation and manuals

  • Monitor changes in legislation and ensure client compliance

  • Act as a point of contact with regulatory bodies at all levels

  • Assist with HSE audits, inspections, and reporting

  • Promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental standards

Candidate Profile
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering)

  • Professional HSE qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) - required

  • Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations

  • Ability to follow established guidelines and work under supervision

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Previous experience in a similar HSE role or environment is desirable
