Contracts Manager Location: Kent Salary: Competitive salary and benefits Job type: Permanent They are looking for an experienced and proven Contracts Manager, responsible for effective and efficient delivery of all project activities within the Kent region. Effective management to time, cost and quality, with all on-site Health, Safety and Environmental issues monitored and resolved, whilst liaising with current and prospective clients in developing and growing the business and providing technical and practical input to tender processes and documentation. Responsibilities of the Contracts Manager:
•Effective contract management and commercial ownership of a portfolio of projects.
•Management, coaching and developing of site staff, project managers, foreman and engineers.
•Work closely with the Commercial departments throughout the valuation process and cost to complete process.
•Work closely with each client ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded.
•Develop, produce and adhere to health and safety documentation and project method statements.
•Have a close working relationship with the quantity surveyors, buyers and estimators in ensuring the project is run to time cost and quality.
•The effective and timely engagement of site staff to ensure that the optimum numbers of personnel are on-site when required.
•Ensure that all quality processes are adhered to on-site together with ensuring that specific paperwork is returned to the office in an accurate and timely manner.
•In conjunction with the HR team manage all day-to- day personnel issues regarding employment, grievances and disciplinary issues and ensure that correct procedures are adhered to.
•Effective engagement and supervision of subcontractors when required.
•Responsible for all regulatory correspondence regarding HSE and other regulatory bodies.
•Monthly project review reporting monitoring costs and highlighting exceptions to the Senior Management team.
•Continuous input through project lifecycle to ensure all projects are within cost and profitable.
•Working to programme, ensuring projected long-term programme is accurate and within cost. Requirements of the Contracts Manager:
•Proven Contract Management experience, or multi-site project management.
•Strong, proven experience in Groundworks/RC frames/Civil engineering with a similar organisation.
•Experience of maintaining appropriate records on projects using MS Excel and in-house software.
•Experience of licensing, health and safety and liaison with regulatory bodies.
•HNC /D in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
•WAMITAB - COTC would be an advantage but not essential.
•Full UK Drivers Licence is required.
•Ability to maintain appropriate records on projects, communicating commercial status of the tasks for which they are responsible.
•A pro-active, organised hands on approach.
•Proven strong negotiating and relationship building skills.
•A team player with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation.
•Adapts and responds to change.
•MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
•Asta would be an advantage but not essential.
