We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Stockport (SK5) who are seeking a dedicated Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant who is available to support their pupils on a 1:1 basis. This school places great emphasis on nurturing each individual child, encouraging them to thrive, build confidence, and make the most of every learning opportunity.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them develop both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to provide personalised, structured, and nurturing support.

Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and daily classroom activities.
Work with pupils individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
Provide targeted 1:1 support to pupils with SEND/SEMH, following tailored support plans.
Assist in preparing learning materials and classroom resources.
Promote positive behaviour, routines, and emotional wellbeing.
Support with observations, assessments, and record keeping.
Supervise pupils during breaktimes, activities, or school trips when required.
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Uphold and contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Key Requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
Good understanding of safeguarding, SEND, and SEMH needs.
