CNC Service Engineer

Salary: £38000 - £47000/annum overtime and bonus

A well established OEM of precision CNC machinery is recruiting for an experienced service engineer to join their expanding team.

With a reputation for exceptional quality and reliability, their machine tools are globally recognised. They have a strong network of engineers across the UK, along with 2 additional technical support staff who are office based. They have a head office here in the UK for equipment storage, refurbishment and distribution, as well as a global headquarters outside of the UK where the equipment is built.

Benefits including an excellent base salary of £38 - £46K depending on experience, plus an OTE of £55-£60K with overtime weekday / weekends, company vehicle, mobile phone & laptop, 36 days holiday, private pension, healthcare, death in service and yearly pay rises.

Responsibilities for the role include -

Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines including multi axis Mills and Lathes
Routine service and inspections, as well as fault finding
Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ballscrews, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors
Machine levelling and alignments
Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
Providing end user training and customer support both remotely and on site
Travel from home to site covering a region of the East Midlands, but be prepared to travel nationally when installation & commissioning projects are required.There are 23 trained technicians across the UK, along with 2 technical support staff at the end of the phone for troubleshooting support. Your role would remain regional in the East Midlands area, as the business prefer to keep you active in your own territory during breakdown & service visits.

Product training provided, along with job shadowing with engineers in the team

We would love to hear from you've previously worked in any of the following roles -

- Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance of CNC, Field Technician, CNC Engineer
- Mechanically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering
- Experience working with FANUC controls
- Good knowledge of fault finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections
- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required
- Clean driving license

No call out is required with this role, weekend overtime has to be pre authorized by both client and head office before being offered out to the team.

The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires an someone who is prepared to do both when necessary. In return the company can be equally flexible when needing time off or working around other engagements.
