Job Description
We are a friendly and inclusive primary school in Dagenham looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our committed team from September 2025. This is a full-time position during term time only.

The successful candidate will provide whole class cover across Reception to Year 6, delivering high-quality teaching in the absence of class teachers or for Senior Leadership Team (SLT) release time. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and well-resourced school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes across the primary phase (Reception - Year 6)

Support teaching and learning in line with school policies

Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Contribute to planning, assessment, and classroom organisation when required

Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement

Requirements:

HLTA qualification (required)

Minimum 1 year of experience working in a primary school setting

GCSEs in English and Maths (essential)

Confident in leading learning across the full primary age range

Strong communication and classroom management skills

A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children
