Are you an experienced and commercially minded finance leader looking to shape strategy, drive performance, and lead a high-impact finance team? Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to join them as Head of Maintenance Finance, playing a pivotal role within their senior finance team and reporting directly into the Group Financial Reporting function.
This is a key leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for financial management of the Maintenance division — the largest and most complex cost base across the group. You’ll oversee budgeting, forecasting, long-term financial planning, and monthly reporting, while translating operational performance into clear, insightful management information.
What you’ll be doing:- Leading a high-performing finance team, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and value-adding financial information.
- Acting as a trusted business partner to senior operational directors and divisional leads — helping shape strategy through meaningful financial insight.
- Coordinating the end-to-end budgeting and financial planning process for the maintenance division.
- Producing and presenting detailed monthly management accounts with commentary to senior leadership.
- Supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses into your area of finance — ensuring alignment with group policy, identifying efficiencies, and driving best practice.
- Continuously reviewing and improving financial processes, systems, and reporting outputs to support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with other finance leads to drive consistency, identify inefficiencies, and improve group-wide finance operations.
- Managing the delivery of accurate statutory accounts and contributing to group-level cash flow forecasts.
What we’re looking for:- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years post-qualification experience in senior finance roles.
- Proven track record in management accounts, financial planning, and business partnering with senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading and developing finance teams, with a strong grasp of coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
- A strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate business objectives into actionable financial plans.
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
This is a predominantly home based role with a flexible approach to travel required across various sites across the South West.
