About the Role

WCB NE provides specialist support to children and young adults experiencing crisis situations who are in need of emergency placements and outreach support. We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead and develop our service and take responsibility for registering and managing the service with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead a high-quality service, ensuring that vulnerable young people receive the care, stability and support they need during challenging times.

You will play a key role in ensuring the service meets CQC regulatory standards, safeguarding expectations and best practice in care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Lead the CQC registration process and ensure the service meets regulatory requirements
✔ Take responsibility for the overall management and leadership of the service
✔ Develop and maintain policies, procedures and governance systems in line with CQC standards
✔ Oversee placements and support packages ensuring care is person-centred and outcome focused
✔ Develop, implement and review individual care and support plans
✔ Maintain high standards of record keeping, reporting and compliance
✔ Work closely with local authorities, social workers and other professionals
✔ Recruit, induct, train and support staff to maintain a high performing team
✔ Carry out risk assessments and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
✔ Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and performance management
✔ Participate in the on-call rota when required (additional pay)

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a motivated leader with experience supporting children and young adults with complex needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties, mental health or learning disabilities.

Essential:

✔ Level 3 qualification in Children and Young adults or similar
✔ Experience supporting children or young adults (minimum 2 years)
✔ At least 2 years' leadership or management experience in a similar setting
✔ Strong knowledge of safeguarding and care standards
✔ Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People (or working towards)

Experience managing or registering services with CQC
Experience working with children and young people in crisis or emergency placements
