With a proud history of engineering excellence and innovation, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Planning Lead to join their Ulverston site and lead a vital part of their operations and Planning team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and forward-thinking planning professional to drive production efficiency, enhance on-time delivery performance, and lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Production Planning Team, overseeing daily planning activities across multiple production lines
  • Manage the end-to-end operations workflow using our ERP/MRP system, from Kitting through Final Test into stock.
  • Lead and mentor a team of planners to drive scheduling accuracy and performance.
  • Coordinate and maintain daily and master production schedules to meet demand.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Production, and other departments to ensure material availability and delivery timelines.
  • Anticipate capacity challenges and proactively implement corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process innovation.
  • Ensure accurate shop order generation and timely kitting to meet production needs.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication and planning transparency.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in production planning and scheduling, ideally in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (IFS experience a plus).
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Confident communicator who can influence and engage at all levels.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a strategic and analytical mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability in change management and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving business needs.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a production planning or scheduling role within a manufacturing environment, ideally with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and production workflows.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic setting.
  • Effective communicator with strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and experience in process optimisation.
