We are recruiting a Body Electronics Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield.
You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities of the Body Electronics Engineer:

• Generate & develop Cost reduction ideas for electronic components, work cross functionally with other affected Design sections to deliver the ideas.
• Application and integration of electrical and electronic components and systems to client's European vehicles
• Releasing and maintaining the vehicle BOM
• Capture of customer requirements and creation of high-level specs
• Close coordination and cooperation with global Alliance R&D centres
• Management of tier 1 suppliers to achieve Q, C, T targets.
• Management of supplier and in-house validation to client's standards
• Creation and maintenance of end-of-line configuration data
• Having 'Frontline' responsibility for Plant and Market support
• Standard KPIs for Cost, Quality and Timing:
• Achievement of commitment cost at Monitor timing
• QBASE and G-CAR closure within Company guidelines
• Design release according to agreed date in release schedule.

Qualifications & Experience for the Body Electronics Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electronic or electrical engineering
• Competent with PC applications such as MS Office
• Knowledge of CAN, CAN tools and vehicle diagnostics
• Valid driving license
• Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience of problem-solving tools and tech-niques.
• 3 years or more relevant experience in automotive industry
• Knowledge of electrical theory and electronic devices
• Knowledge of hardware and software development processes
• Project and supplier management experience
• Ability to travel within the UK and internationally to suppliers, plants, other global R&D cen-tres on an infrequent basis.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with excellent communication and project management skills.
• Competent with PC applications including Microsoft Office suite.
Self-motivated and self-managing.

Hours & Pay for the Body Electronics Engineer:

• Monday to Friday
• 39 hours per week
• £27.00p/h
