We are now exclusively supporting a long established and well respected art dealership with their search for a new Finance Director.

As an organisation with current and historic ties to some of the world’s most renowned modern and contemporary artists and institutions, this finance role offers the chance to play an active part in the exchange of some culturally significant artworks.

This is a highly varied role that will primarily focus on the running of the finance operations but is likely to involve a vast mix of responsibilities. As a small business this sole finance role will suit an individual that’s looking for a hands on position where no two days will be the same.

As an art dealer that trades in high value items at low volume, this position not only offers the chance to take full control of the finance operations but will also include a significant number of strategic tasks to influence and aid all areas of the businesses.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled finance professional to make a real impact on a respected and exclusive business. The business are also open to someone working 4 days per week and for the right individual, this opportunity offers potential to take on more responsibility within the business in the future.

Key Responsibilities of this Finance Director role include;

• Sole responsibility for the companies finance function and finance strategy.
• Management of cash deposits and investment portfolio.
• Compliance tasks such as regulations affecting the art market including anti-money laundering (AML).
• Work closely with the managing director, providing wider advice and oversight of operations.
• Maintain relationships with auditors, bankers, compliance firms and artists accountants.

Other responsibilities may include;

• Operational tasks such as basic HR, IT, company secretarial, legal contracts and insurances.
• Supporting directors with collating information for tax returns.
• Advice and support of an associated charitable foundation.

You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified with strong experience as a senior finance professional.
• Experience of managing finance operations in an owner managed business.
• Ideally will have prior experience of dealing with compliance tasks such as anti-money laundering (AML).
• Experience of the art sector would be advantageous.
• Willing to take on a highly varied hands on role as a sole finance person, that could encompass tasks beyond the usual finance function.
