The Role

Our client is an iconic British Motorcycle manufacturer with over 120 years of heritage, who are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Category Buyer to join a fast-paced and forward-thinking manufacturing and engineering environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the electrical procurement category, including supplier relationship management, cost negotiations, and supporting new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the category expert for electrical components - owning supplier relationships, cost control, and supplier sourcing.

* Drive early supplier engagement for new projects, including validation and tracking.

* Lead pricing negotiations, feasibility reviews, development plan sign-offs, and capacity planning with suppliers.

* Ensure professional and consistent communication with the supply base.

* Identify and mitigate any supply risks that could impact project timelines or delivery.

* Manage purchase orders and schedules.

* Continuously improve procurement processes and support cross-functional collaboration.

* Contribute to supplier performance evaluations (quality, cost, delivery).

Requirements

* Proven experience in electrical category procurement within engineering and automotive sectors.

* Strong negotiation and communication skills.

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

* Detail-oriented, organised, and able to prioritise effectively.

* Flexible and adaptable with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
