I have a great opportunity to join a Manchester based Architect firm on an 18 month maternity leave contract, they are happy to look at someone on both a full time or part time basis (dependent on experience).

Working within the marketing team, the main purpose of this position is to lead on and be responsible for the internal and external communications on an interim contract to help provide maternity cover for their Communications Manager. Working across their sectors and service lines you will develop strategies and create content that represents, develops and promotes their brand. The role will also involve working closely with the wider marketing team to deliver other related marketing activities.

They are ideally looking for someone to start November 2022 - the Comms Manager goes off on maternity leave at the beginning of December 2022, so would ideally like a few weeks with this new person to hand over.

The hours are 37.5 per week and they operate a flexible working policy of core hours being 9.30-4.30 Mon - Thu and 9.30 - 3.30 on Friday. They have a hybrid working model of 3 days office and two days office, but you are welcome to work in the office full time if you prefer. Obviously for a part time role, you can discuss the home vs. office ratio. However, as there is a junior person to manage you will need to be in the office on some days.

Payment - they are happy to put you on their payroll or if you would prefer to invoice as a freelancer that is fine too.

Duties Include:

  • Develop and implement communications plans which deliver against Business Plan and Marketing Plan objectives.
  • Lead on internal and external communications and PR, and promote understanding internally of communications strategies.
  • Act as the company’s media liaison.
  • Pro-actively produce content for media consumption.
  • Develop talking points for internal and external speaking engagements for senior staff
  • Help staff to understand and get the most from their communication channels.
  • Actively seek out content from staff to enable a regular release of news items.
  • Create short and long form digital content to be shared across the company’s channels.
  • Ensure any content produced adheres to the company’s, purpose, values, and brand.
  • Help monitor engagement and report on the performance of our social media, digital and communication channels.
  • Instigate and manage internal and external commissions in support of communications objectives.
  • Support the organisation of marketing events, leading on associated external communications.
  • Support the preparation of bids as required.
  • Support other marketing activities as required.
  • Assist in the development, management and monitoring of core value propositions as required.
