Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting the next group of teaching assistants for the 2025/2026 academic year to support and nurture a class of students with special educational needs (SEN). These needs may include mental health challenges, physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural difficulties, making an empathetic and considerate personality a key requirement for this role. You will support students aged between 5 and 16 and play a pivotal role in their academic success.

Position Details:

Start date: September 2025
Location: Bath
Working hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (may vary depending on the school)
Monday to Friday, term-time only
Opportunities to transition to a permanent contract with the school for the right candidates

What You'll Do:

Support students with SEN, either in small groups or one-to-one, depending on each student's specific needs
Work closely with other teaching assistants to support students' learning and development
Assist the classroom teacher in delivering the school's tailored curriculum, ensuring students stay engaged and involved with the lesson content
Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Build trusting relationships with students, helping them feel safe and perform at their academic best
Assist with learning activities and classwork, providing support as needed

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience with SEN or challenging behaviour, either professionally or personally, is desirable but not essential
A genuine passion for education, looking to begin or continue your career
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
The ability to adapt your approach to suit different students and their individual needs
