We are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join our independent specialist school in Woking, Surrey. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education to pupils aged 11 to 17 years, who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About The Role

As a Maths Teacher, you will be primarily focused on knowing the child, building professional, nurturing, and positive relationships, and motivating students. You will be responsible for teaching Mathematics across various levels including Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE. You will be supported by national subject champions to enhance your teaching methods tailored to the needs of the children.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons that are tailored to students with SEMH and SEND.
  • Collaborate with therapy professionals, parents/carers, and local authority teams to secure outstanding outcomes for all students.
  • Participate in the decision-making processes that drive the school and advocate for every child.
  • Contribute to both the academic curriculum and the extra-curricular activities by bringing personal interests and passions to the role.
  • Manage complex and challenging behaviours through consistent, flexible, and non-judgemental approaches.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Mathematics.
  • Experience in teaching students with SEMH and SEND is highly desirable.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students who have complex needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
