About the RoleWe are looking for a caring, committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a mainstream primary school. This long-term role focuses on helping the child access learning, build confidence, and thrive both academically and socially. You’ll work closely with teaching staff and SEN specialists to deliver personalised support that truly makes a difference.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, following their EHCP.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Support emotional regulation, communication, and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider team.
- Encourage independence and engagement in classroom routines.
- Maintain accurate notes and contribute to progress reviews.
- Build positive, professional relationships with children, staff, and families.
Requirements- Experience supporting children with SEN (1:1 experience is beneficial).
- Awareness of strategies for supporting social, emotional, or learning needs.
- Patient, nurturing approach with strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow guidance and use initiative when needed.
- A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
