Lower School Teacher (Primary) x2 – SEMH Focus (Fringe Area)Suitable for ECTs or Experienced Teachers

Can you make a difference in the lives of students?Do you thrive on challenge and enjoy being solution-focused?Are you passionate about working in a therapeutic SEMH environment? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic primary-trained teacher to join our specialist SEMH school. Our students have often missed significant periods of education due to exclusion from mainstream settings or health-related absences. As a result, they may be working below age-related expectations and require a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic approach to learning.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will be working at a low academic level initially, assessing students and helping them progress to where they need to be. Our school is on a journey to becoming a fully therapeutic community, and we are looking for staff who want to be part of that transformation.

About the Role:

  • Based primarily in our unique Lower School provision (Years 5–7)
  • Opportunity to teach across KS2 and KS3
  • Work closely with the Lower School Curriculum Lead and Head of School
  • Deliver a bespoke, thematic, and kinaesthetic curriculum
  • Support students’ transition into Year 7 and beyond

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Primary Education
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
  • Experience working with SEND or SEMH students is highly desirable
  • Energetic, flexible, and creative approach to teaching
  • Commitment to building relationships and fostering resilience

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Free lunches
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Charity discount scheme
  • Summer and Christmas social events
  • Free onsite parking
  • Access to a swimming pool
  • Excellent internal and external training opportunities

If you’re ready to help rebuild lives through education and want to be part of a school that values social development as much as academic progress, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: This role involves working closely with vulnerable children and is therefore subject to an Enhanced DBS check and other safeguarding procedures.
