Job Title: Senior Healthcare Assistant

Hours: 37.5 hours/Week
Our client is a family-owned business who have been established for over 7 years and are passionate about giving the right care to their clients.
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly organised Senior Healthcare Assistant to join their care team. This role combines hands-on care with key administrative duties, supporting both service users and the wider care team to deliver exceptional home-based care.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality personal care to clients in their own homes while also supporting the Registered Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks, scheduling, and team coordination.
Responsibilities for the Senior Healthcare Assistant role include:
- Deliver person-centred care in line with individual care plans.
- Support clients with daily tasks including personal hygiene, mobility, medication, nutrition, and companionship.
- Act as a senior point of contact for carers and respond to any immediate concerns in the field.
- Mentor and support junior carers, including assisting with inductions and shadowing.
- Monitor client well-being and report any changes in condition to management.
- Assist with rota planning and staff scheduling to ensure adequate care coverage.
- Maintain accurate care records and update care plans as needed.
- Handle telephone and email queries from carers, clients, and family members.
- Support compliance with CQC regulations by maintaining documentation and audits.
- Help with training coordination, supervisions, and performance reviews.
- Carry out spot checks and service user reviews.
Candidates applying for the Senior Healthcare Assistant role will need:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in domiciliary/home care.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Be available to work shifts and weekends on a rota
- Confident using digital systems (care software, Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Ability to lead a team and act under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
- Experience in scheduling or administrative support within care.
- Knowledge of CQC standards and regulations.
- Previous experience as a senior carer/team leader.
