Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Placements & Assessment Officer for a local authority client in North London.
In this role, you will lead the commissioning and quality assurance of placements for Looked After Children, ensuring each child is matched with safe, supportive, and value-for-money care.
Duties:
- Commission and assess placements for Looked After Children, including residential, IFA, and semi-independent services.
- Conduct national visits and quality assurance assessments, ensuring services meet regulatory and safeguarding standards.
- Produce reports and data analysis to support strategic commissioning and value-for-money decisions.
- Liaise with social workers, providers, and partners to ensure children's needs are met through appropriate, stable placements.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience working with Looked After Children and understanding their complex needs.
- Proven ability to assess, monitor, and evaluate external care placements
- Strong background in partnership working with statutory and external agencies.
- Experience managing a varied workload, including national travel and time-sensitive assessments.
What's on offer:
Salary: £22ph+
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
