SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time (September Start) Blackburn, Lancashire
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Blackburn from September. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to implement support plans
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (essential)
- A patient, caring, and resilient nature
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable
