SALARY: £40,000
LOCATION: Dudley (office based)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Red Rock is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business based in the heart of the Black Country.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Buyer to support their busy operations team. This is a brand new, stand-alone role- so there is lots of full autonomy and lots of opportunity to make the role your own!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Source and purchase materials, products, and services required for engineering operations

* Develop and maintain supplier relationships

* Negotiate pricing and contracts to ensure value for money

* Monitor supplier performance and ensure quality standards are met

* Keep accurate inventory and procurement records

* Work with internal departments to manage stock levels and delivery schedules

* Track market trends and implement cost-saving strategies

* Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures

THE CANDIDATE:

* Background in procurement or purchasing within the commercial engineering sector

* Able to read and interpret engineering/technical drawings

* Strong negotiation and communication skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with SAGE systems

* GCSEs or equivalent qualification

* Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive
