Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support in formulating strategic technology approaches and systems architectures for Charter's Release Automation systems. This position is responsible for designing reusable technical assets and standards to support solution development, as well as consulting with project owners on how to best leverage these assets and standards. This role will establish and communicate best practices while collaborating with a wide variety of senior technology teams to automate technology stack deployments across virtual and physical server infrastructures.

Successful candidates must have strong leadership skills including experience leading/mentoring development teams, and outstanding software engineering skills, including scripted deployment automation for middleware, application system software and applications into heterogeneous multi-tier enterprise applications. Equally important is the ability to communicate clearly with other members of the team and throughout the company.

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
  • Responsible for the designing deployment workflow orchestration and operational initiatives associated with the Broadcom Automic Continuous Delivery Automation (CDA) solution
  • Create and maintain secure integration interfaces to other Charter tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Selenium, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for deployment automation, recommend an efficient technical solution and establish use cases
  • Work with vendors to establish and maintain application lifecycle roadmap. Communicate to leadership and internal CDA customer base
  • Collaborate with IT Architecture to define and develop technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices
  • Conduct design reviews and maintain design artifacts
  • Establish and follow documented procedures to write programs or scripts to build automated workflows
  • DevOps skills across SCM, Static Code Analyzer, Build & Release Continuous Integration tools and frameworks such as, Git, ANT, Maven, Sonar, Jenkins, Artifactory, Selenium, etc.,
  • Strong understanding and practical working knowledge of Unix Shell (Bash) Scripting, Java, Python, Perl, Jenkins, Git, Maven
  • Familiarity with WebLogic Scripting using WLST, PowerShell Scripting, REST and SOAP Web Services, JIRA, Confluence and Splunk
  • Strong know-how of operating systems such as Linux, UNIX or Windows
  • Understanding of multi-tier application architecture and deployment
  • Exposure to administering application servers, servlet containers, and web servers
  • Database experience with Oracle, MSSQL server, SQL, or PL/SQL
  • Drive business and IT alignment to leverage reusable architecture capabilities
  • Collaborate with IT management to define and develop technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices
  • Act as a technical expert addressing problems relating to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platform integration
  • Interact and consult with appropriate business analysts, project managers and developers to understand application/project requirements and define architectural solutions to meet those requirements
  • Work with the application solutions delivery teams in the development of services, components, standards, and frameworks required to support Charter's business strategy (e.g. design patterns, reusable components)
  • Ensure that projects follow the prescribed development life cycle and meet quality standards
  • Assist with analyzing and recommending software acquisitions and alternative solutions/methodologies/strategies and tools
  • Keep current with trends and technological innovations in the Cable and IT industry, and make appropriate development recommendations
  • Identify risks associated with component or application implementation

BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or related field or equivalent work experience

Related Work Experience
10 years experience with system installation, configuration and operations
6 years of software or DB development
4 years of DB schema design or XL message design and web service design
2 years of building automation tools (ANT, Maven, Jenkins) and testing automation tools (SoapUI, JUnit)
