Join Our Client's Team and Help Keep Their Production Running Smoothly

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our client's dedicated Engineering team. In this key role, you'll work closely with a small group of skilled engineers and report directly to the Engineering Manager. Your expertise will help ensure their plant and equipment operate efficiently, reliably and in line with their Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule—minimising downtime and keeping their production on track.

What You'll Be Doing

In this varied and fast-paced role, you will:

* Deliver effective engineering support to production, carrying out preventative maintenance and machinery installations.

* Perform electrical fault-finding, diagnosis and rectification on production machinery.

* Troubleshoot breakdowns, take a lead role when issues arise and communicate clearly with all relevant teams.

* Contribute to continuous improvement by helping develop initiatives that boost efficiency, enhance quality and reduce waste.

* Ensure all work is completed safely, following company health & safety standards at all times.

What We're Looking For

You'll thrive in this role if you are motivated, creative and calm under pressure—especially when things don't go to plan.

We're seeking someone with:

* Experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.

* Practical skills in machinery servicing and general electrical/mechanical machinery maintenance.

* A solid understanding of manufacturing processes and a passion for continuous improvement.

* The confidence to lead during breakdowns and communicate effectively with colleagues.

* Knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and motor drives (training provided where needed).

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

* Experience in an FMCG environment—ideally meat processing.

* City & Guilds Qualification in Engineering (or equivalent).

* Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach.

* Understanding of food processing operations.

Why Join Them?

* Opportunity to work with a supportive, close-knit engineering team.

* Ongoing training and development to enhance your skillset.

* A role where your expertise directly impacts efficiency, quality and performance.
