Manufacturing Team Leader

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

We're seeking a driven and experienced Team Leader/Supervisor to champion operational excellence, inspire a high-performing team, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor. As a Manufacturing Team Leader, you'll oversee daily production activities, streamline workflows using CRM systems, and ensure adherence to stringent quality and safety standards. You'll foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth, playing a pivotal role in achieving performance targets and advancing our Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead daily production meetings to align the team with clear, actionable targets

Ensure compliance with quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

*

Optimize department capacity and staffing levels through effective use of CRM systems

*

Provide hands-on leadership to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges swiftly

*

Monitor team performance, conducting regular 1:1s and performance reviews

*

Mentor and develop team members, embedding a Lean Manufacturing mindset

*

Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools such as 5S, TPM, Kaizen, and root cause analysis

*

Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Quality Assurance, and Materials teams to ensure seamless operations

Requirements:

*

5+ years of experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment

*

Proven leadership and coaching skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams

*

Expertise in Lean methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, 5Y, TPM)

*

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of the organization

*

Proficiency in CRM or MRP systems for production planning and resource management

*

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

In-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations, production planning, and quality assurance processes
