About the Role

We are currently recruiting for 8 experienced Advanced Practitioners to join a dynamic Children in Care Service in Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking service that is continuing to innovate and improve outcomes for children and young people. The team supports approximately 700 children in care aged 0-18, acting as corporate parents and ensuring the best possible life chances.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality social work practice across a range of permanency planning pathways including:

* Placement with parents

* Long-term fostering

* Special Guardianship Orders (SGO)

* Adoption

Key Responsibilities

* Manage complex caseloads within Children in Care

* Undertake care proceedings from Interim Care Orders through to Final Orders

* Complete robust parenting assessments and permanency planning

* Produce high-quality reports for court and statutory reviews

* Deliver meaningful direct work with children and families

* Support young people in developing independence and preparing for adulthood

Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

* A recognised Social Work qualification

* SWE registration

* Minimum 3+ years post-qualified experience in Children's Social Care

* Strong experience in:

* Court work and care proceedings

* Permanency planning

* Parenting assessments

* Excellent report writing and case recording skills

* A child-centred approach with a genuine passion for improving outcomes

Working Arrangements

* Full-time: 36.5 hours per week

* Office-based minimum 2 days per week (team dependent)

* All teams attend the office on Thursdays

* Flexibility required in line with responsibilities as a corporate parent
