Design Project Manager

Engineering @ 365 are currently working with a specialist manufacturer based in Leicester who are recruiting for a Design Project Manager on a permanent basis.

Job Description:

As a Design Project Managers, you will be entrusted with running multiple projects at once ranging from £50,000 up a £1 million, dependant on the complexity of the client's requirements.

In this position, your main responsibility will be to gather and organise information for our drafting team to create models and drawings for client approval. You'll also oversee managing the design and program aspects of your projects, which may involve attending site surveys and design meetings. While CAD drafting skills are not required, a solid understanding of design principles and pre-and post-construction project management is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work to produce and manage the design programme and Information Required Schedule.

* Review all design deliverables, including specialist supplier elements and interfaces to establish that they are within budget are fully coordinated and are buildable.

* Coordinate project team comments and resolve any design-related construction queries with the design team.

* A desire to constantly learn, improve and share knowledge and experience.

* Demonstrating project management qualities to encourage effective design team and construction team co-ordination and collaborative working to meet the Project goals.

* Understanding the project requirements including Client briefs & business processes, and Employer Requirements.

* Assisting in the mitigation of design risks as part of the team.

* Take part in design co-ordination and design progress meetings with the design team and sub-contractors and ensure that design risk assessments are produced.

* Support in the production of the Contractors' Proposals

* CAD drafting experience is not mandatory but advantageous.

Requirements:

* Previous Design and Project Management experience

* Previous exposure and experience with Tekla and AutoCAD

* Strong communication and project management skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
