A thriving secondary school in Gloucester is seeking a passionate Science ECT to join its successful Science department in September 2025. The school offers well-equipped science laboratories and a modern, dynamic curriculum that integrates STEM subjects, ensuring students receive a broad and hands-on education. The department is collaborative, with a focus on inquiry-based learning and cross-curricular projects.

As a Science ECT, your role will include:

Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, with the potential for A-Level teaching depending on your progression

*

Encouraging student engagement through practical experiments, investigations, and real-world applications of scientific concepts

*

Supporting the department's collaborative approach to curriculum design and student progress

*

Contributing to extracurricular opportunities such as science clubs, trips, and competitions

ECTs will receive:

A supportive induction program, including regular observations, feedback, and a mentor for one-on-one guidance

A reduced teaching timetable in Year 1 to allow time for planning and development

*

CPD tailored to subject-specific pedagogy and teaching strategies

What we're looking for:

QTS (or expected by July 2025)

A degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science)

*

Enthusiasm for teaching and a passion for inspiring students to develop scientific skills

*

Strong classroom management and a reflective approach to teaching

*

Enhanced DBS required
