Auris is a technology company defining the future of medical intervention. By combining advancements in medical robotics, instrumentation, navigation and data science, Auris is building a platform technology capable of expanding the applicability of robotics to a spectrum of medical procedures.

As a Senior Mechanical Designer/Drafter in Surgical Robotics, you will contribute to the development of a next generation of surgical robotic instrumentation. This instrumentation completest the translation of the clinician's movements from robotic end effectors to tissue manipulation within the body. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who wants to help us revolutionize the world of medical robotics.

Core Job Responsibilities:

- Creating and maintaining CAD (Computer Aided Design) models, assemblies and detailed drawings through the product lifecycle
- Interface with design and develop engineers to draft, review, finalize or revise component, fixturing and product specifications
- Originate and support design change orders per engineering instructions per Auris' SOPs
- Keep CAD databases up to date with the current design as well as support database users
- Support multiple engineers within the team and self-manage the workload
- Provide mentoring to engineers on the team for drawings and design change orders best practices

- 2-year associate degree in technical drafting or design, vocational certificate or design certification preferred or equivalent work experience.
- SolidWorks and PDM expert level, familiarity with drafting standards, familiarity with drawing release process and cross functional reviews, knowledge of materials, finishes and manufacturing processes
Minimum Qualifications:

- 2+ years experience drafting computer aided technical drawings and specifications
- 2+ years experience modeling in a 3D CAD environments
- Creation of assemblies and BOMs
- Exposure to design control and formal change control processes
- Exposure to CAD vault management systems
Preferred Qualifications:

- Expert SolidWorks user and PDM administrator
- Exposure to Agile document control system
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5)
- Knowledge of basic engineering materials and finishing callouts
- Experience creating parts or drawings for injection molding
- Experience designing parts or drawings for machining
- Experience with simple fixture design and specification
- Experience with medical devices, electronics and/or robotics
- Experience specifying tolerances or limits of fit
