Role Overview:

As a Mixed Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse client portfolio, providing both corporate and personal tax services. You will act as the main point of contact for your clients, delivering high-quality advisory and compliance services while managing a small team of junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a mixed portfolio of clients, including private individuals, family-owned businesses, and corporate entities, providing both corporate tax and personal tax services.

  • Provide advisory services on corporate tax planning, inheritance tax (IHT), capital gains tax (CGT), trust planning, and business succession planning.

  • Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the latest tax legislation.

  • Lead and oversee tax compliance work, including corporate tax returns, self-assessment and capital gains tax returns for individuals, and other business-related tax obligations.

  • Manage a team of junior tax professionals, providing mentoring and development opportunities, reviewing their work, and providing technical support as required.

  • Stay up to date with tax legislation changes and ensure clients receive proactive, tailored tax advice.

  • Handle HMRC correspondence, including managing inquiries, tax investigations, and dispute resolution.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification or equivalent, with strong technical knowledge of both corporate and personal tax.

  • Experience in managing a mixed tax portfolio, with a track record of delivering both advisory and compliance services.

  • Strong understanding of tax planning, including corporate structures, IHT, CGT, and trusts.

  • Previous experience in managing a small team or supervising junior staff.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and senior colleagues.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with tax software, including CCH, IRIS, or similar tools, is desirable.
