GPW Recruitment are working with a specialist manufacturer in Leigh, we are looking to recruit an Electronics Test Engineer on a permanent basis paying up to £30,000 pa.

Working for this established, market leader, the work will involve test, fault finding and repair of PCB's as well as other electrical circuitry and products including finished products. Updating of PCB parts lists to specify alternative equivalent components when the originally specified parts are not available.

The ability to use PCB CAD software (ideally Proteus) to modify PCB layouts is preferred. There is a possible requirement for some site work at UK or international locations

Key responsibilities:

* Test and repair of electrical and electronic assemblies

* Production of test rigs

* Filling out test certificates, non-conformance documents etc

* Providing technical assistance to other departments

Personal skills and qualifications of Electronics Test Engineer:

Essential experience

• Experience in a similar role

• Able to fault find and repair to PCB component level

• Experience with the following: logic circuits, operational amplifiers, comparators, microcontrollers, thyristor and transistor circuitry (preferably including IGBT's), relay and contactor circuits

• Experience with SM PCB's, including soldering of SM components

• Fully conversant in the use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, bench power supplies etc

Desirable experience

• Preferably qualified to HNC in electronic engineering

• Ability to use PCB CAD software

Essential skills

• Excellent level of computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and the Internet

• Ability to plan and coordinate effectively

• Collating and presenting accurate information in a timely manner

Desirable skills

• Able to communicate effectively with good presentation skills

• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal/external training customers

• Excellent Customer Service Skills

• Excellent telephone manner
