Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, nurturing, and differentiated lessons suited to pupils with SEMH needs.

  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with pupils, promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

  • Teach within small group settings, adapting approaches to meet individual learning and wellbeing needs.

  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders to create a consistent, therapeutic learning environment.

  • Implement personalised behaviour and learning plans, keeping detailed records of pupil progress.

  • Contribute to a safe, structured, and emotionally secure environment that prioritises each child's wellbeing.

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A strong understanding of Key Stage 1 curriculum expectations.

  • A nurturing, patient, and trauma-informed approach to teaching.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Previous experience in SEMH, SEND, or behaviour support is highly desirable.

  • Passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.
