A growing consultancy group is seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial control, reporting accuracy, and operational oversight across the organisation. With multiple service lines and a project-based revenue model, the business requires disciplined financial governance alongside strong commercial visibility.

This is a senior role offering ownership of the finance function’s day-to-day operations while partnering closely with leadership to support growth and performance.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take responsibility for financial reporting, controls, cash management, and team leadership. The role combines technical accounting expertise with commercial awareness in a professional services environment.

• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely management accounts

• Oversee revenue recognition across projects and service lines

• Maintain strong balance sheet control, including WIP, accruals, and deferred income

• Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks, and reporting processes

• Manage budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with senior stakeholders

• Oversee cash flow management and working capital optimisation

• Support statutory reporting and manage the external audit process

• Develop and mentor the finance team

• Provide clear financial insight to support operational and strategic decisions

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified

• Proven Financial Controller or senior finance experience within consultancy, professional services, or a project-based environment

• Strong understanding of revenue recognition and project accounting

• Experience improving processes and strengthening financial controls

• Confident communicator, comfortable engaging at senior leadership level

• Hands-on, commercially minded, and detail-focused
