Mot Tester / Vehicle Technician
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester/Vehicle Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept at using hand and power tools. As an MOT Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of vehicles, contributing to the overall quality of service provided by our garage.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards.
* Inspect and assess vehicle components,including brakes, lights, steering and suspension systems.
* Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections and any work carried out.
* Communicate findings of vehicle to the Workshop Manager clearly and professionally.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the garage environment.
* Assist with heavy lifting tasks as required during vehicle inspections or repairs.
Requirements:
* Valid MOT Tester certification is essential
* Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or maintenance.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly.
