Interim Group Accountant

JOB TYPE: Permanent, FullTime

Our client is a highly successful manufacturing group with UK and international operations. A requirement has arisen to support the Group Financial Controller for an interim period of 3-4 months as the company enters an busy period for financial reporting. We require a qualified accountant with great technical accounting skills (so likely to be ACA, ACCA or similar) with experience of group accounting who will undertake the following:

  • Ensure the accuracy of group consolidation process and that all information is accurate and reported to the required timeframes, including the inter-company reconciliation process
  • Support the Group Financial Controller in preparing the group financial statements and tax calculations
  • Maintain and develop the group consolidation software
  • Maintain and develop the group accounting manual
  • Support the audit process and production of published financial statements
  • Support group treasury requirements
  • Ensure all new accounting standards are analysed for impact on the group and implemented across all group companies, providing appropriate training and support
  • Manage the statutory accounts process
  • Ensure corporation tax compliance
  • Ensure that the group transfer pricing policy is maintained and applied for intra-group transactions, especially cross-border transactions
  • Maintain statutory registers and tax authorities reporting requirements
  • Liaison with external auditors

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Qualified accountant (probably ACA or ACCA)
  • Technical expert with IFRS
  • Prior group reporting role or perhaps from a public practice background with group audit expertise
  • IT literate with systems experience and good Excel skills and experience of using consolidation software
  • Good organisational and time management skills

The role will require an early June start with a 3-4 month contract length. Candidates will need to be confident in their ability to conduct this role remotely and also be prepared to work at the Head Office as required within government guidelines. Initial interviews will be conducted by video calls.
