Prep and review heavy volume of patient statements, over 1,000 per week.
Manage and maintain collections, decipher validity of collection accounts, work with Collections Agent.
Perform online appeal submissions via carrier websites.
File claims to the appropriate insurance company on a daily basis, via electronic or paper.
Post all payments from the insurance companies electronically and paper, and reconcile on a daily basis. Work all related EOB denials.
Work A/R Aging report weekly.
Capable of short term group project work while able to maintain daily duties. Run lead on group projects occasionally.
Heavily motivated to meet high quota number of receivables worked on each day.
Responsible for all A/R duties including but not limited to:
Printing & working A/R report
Call on unpaid accounts (insurance side)
Print claims, attach documents and complete inquiries (mailing and faxing to carriers)
Responsible for account documentation
Scan documents in appeal portion of account
Assume responsibility for follow up on all outstanding accounts receivable.
Prepare and submit provider inquiries and corrected claims to carriers for payment.
Gathering and forwarding the carrier information for additional information necessary for claims payment.
Answer questions by patients, insurance companies and secretaries on billing issues.
Manage heavy volume of calls daily, 50-60+ calls, in addition to all other duties.
End of day balance
Perform other duties as requested.
Medical Billing Certification or 2-5 years medical billing experience in a medical office with the job duties mentioned above.
Extensive EMR experience, preferably MEDENT.
Highly effective with Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
Knowledge of medical insurances, WNY Helathenet, Reveal, Payspan, Connex, EPaces, Avality, Change and others.
Must be able to work independently 75% of time.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task.
Must have good organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and composure when handling difficult clients/stressful situations.
The employee must have the ability to work overtime hours when necessary.
