Role Purpose
To provide high‑quality teaching and classroom cover across Key Stages 1 and/or 2, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies
• Support pupils' learning, engagement, and wellbeing
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and routines
• Communicate effectively with school staff and provide feedback on pupil progress and conduct
• Complete any required marking or handover notes at the end of the day

Person Specification / Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience working within a primary school setting
• Strong classroom management skills
• Flexible, reliable, and professional approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff quickly
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

• Experience across multiple year groups
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
• Availability at short notice
