Technical Product Developer - Luxury
My client, a leading luxury and high-end fashion brand, are looking for a dynamic and experienced Technical Product Developer to join their Central London team.
My client is known for their unusual prints that are paired with soft sculptured shapes displaying a vision of elegance which embraces futuristic and classic elements and is constantly evolving and has been worn by Michelle Obama, Rhianna, Kate Bosworth and a host of other celebrities and is sold in over 29 countries.
The Technical Product Developer works closely with the Textile & Design team, Atelier Team & external factories and monitors product specifications before the product before it goes into Production.
The ideal Technical Product Developer will:
•Be able to develop garments at a quality that pleases both designer and costumer
•Suggest best suitable finishings for Proto Sample, final SMS & PPS ensuring the best quality is achieved
•Encourage Machinists & factories in finding the best technical solutions
•Resolve technical related problems
•Carry out garment inspection ensuring products meet quality requirements
•Measure samples & analyse fit
•Liaise very closely with Pattern Cutters
Other area of responsibilty include:
• SMS Sampling
• Assess which samples to make in house & which ones at the factories
•Build BOM’s & spec sheets to communicate product specifications
•Make sure finishings are the same throughout the product range to create unity & consistency
•Create sample packs for factories
•Travel to factories when required
•Attend Production Fittings
•Update construction and finishing notes on spec sheets
•Hand over BOMs & spec sheets to Production at the completion of each collection
Skills and knowledge:
•Very good technical understanding of garment construction, finishing & fit for the high-end market
•Exceptional attention to detail
•Very good verbal & written communication skills
•Enthusiastic about fashion & product innovation
•Passionate about product quality
•Positive & solution focused attitude
•Great team player
The ideal candidate will have at least 1-4 years experience as a Technical Product Developer.
Experience of working with a luxury product is essential and you must be highly organised with great attention to detail and used to working at a fast pace.
