VAT Assistant Manager

We are seeking a VAT Assistant Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in UK VAT, an understanding of UK and EU VAT compliance requirements, and a proactive approach to managing an advisory portfolio. The successful candidate will be supported by the Director and Partner and will have the opportunity to build and grow their network within our Gatwick office.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Build and manage your own advisory portfolio, providing expert advice on UK and EU VAT compliance and filing obligations.
- Engage directly with HMRC on behalf of the organisation, ensuring compliance and addressing any issues that arise.
- Utilise various IT systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in VAT processing and reporting; experience with Altryx is advantageous but not essential.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and understanding of VAT matters.
- Actively participate in networking and growth activities within the Gatwick office to enhance the firm's presence and your professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong previous experience with and interest in UK VAT.
- Understanding of UK and EU VAT compliance requirements and filing obligations.
- Technologically adept, with experience in using different IT systems; Altryx experience is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and a clear communication style.
- Proven ability to manage and build client portfolios.
- Experience dealing directly with HMRC.
