Team Profile:

Trade & Transaction Reporting Operations (TTRO) manages the Firm’s global transaction reporting obligations, monitoring the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the Firm’s reporting. Comprised of teams in London, New York, Hong Kong, Glasgow and Mumbai, supported by a selection of vendors and third party service providers the criticality of the function ensures senior management engagement and secures a high profile for those in the team.

As the Centre of Excellence for Transaction Reporting, TTRO are regularly engaged in delivering regulatory changes in a high focus, rapidly evolving environment. Supporting a broad stakeholder base, TTRO liaise with various internal and external counterparties daily, including Sales and Trading, Non-Market Risk leads, Legal and Compliance teams, Information Technology, trade organisations such as ISDA, AFME and FIA, Industry utilities such as DTCC and UnaVista in addition to partners across the Operations division.

Primary Responsibilities:

MS are currently establishing the team to support Proactive Sample testing for the firm’s transaction reporting obligations under MIFID and SFTR, key responsibilities of this position will include:

- Independently test our MIFID & SFTR Transaction reporting implementation by testing trades front to back to ensure they are reporting in alignment with the current MIFIID & SFTR rules.

- The testing will also determine if the firms control framework is capturing the issue.

- Diagnostic testing will also be included in order to capture obvious errors and help size any problems that are found.

- Diagnostic tests are to be written in SQL and/or Python. These will require continuous improvement to automate and detect issues.

- Participates in industry working group calls and maintains a good understanding of upcoming regulatory reporting rules, published by ESMA.

- Proactively assists the Business, Operations, Compliance, and IT teams in understanding the impact of new regulatory changes.

- Demonstrates a detailed knowledge of the front to back system infrastructure and understands data flows, booking models, and logic required to capture data.

- Liaises with relevant stakeholders in Operations, Technology, the Business, and Compliance to identify the root cause of issues and to address potential areas of risk.

- Investigates if any of the new products the firm is launching complies with the applicable reporting regulations.

- Ensures Compliance Courses and Policies are completed on a timely basis.
