Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Contract Type: Contract- Outside of Scope of IR35- Pending Determination

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team and play a key role in managing all commercial and contractual aspects of projects, from tender to execution. In this position, you will support the Bid and Project Delivery teams to ensure the efficient management of costs, contracts, and commercial risks, contributing to successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the administration of monthly payments, ensuring all applications, certificates, and invoices are processed correctly and in a timely manner to maintain project financial health.
Prepare and submit Compensation Event (CE) quotations, demonstrating clear entitlement principles, ensuring cost impacts are accurately represented.
Maintain daily control of contract management systems (e.g., CEMAR), ensuring all contract data is accurately updated and easily accessible for project tracking and reporting.
Act as the primary liaison with client procurement and commercial teams throughout the contract lifecycle. Attend client meetings as required, ensuring strong communication and smooth collaboration.
Provide valuable assistance to the Project Manager in interpreting the contract and works information, ensuring all aspects are clearly understood and adhered to during project execution.
Support the Project Manager in managing project risks, both known and emerging, through the Early Warning Notice (EWN) process. Identify, assess, and help mitigate any potential risks to the project's progress.
Oversee and audit the Change Control procedure, ensuring all changes are properly documented and tracked. This includes reviewing change trackers, overspend notices, and assessing both recoverable and non-recoverable overspend impacts.
Process new Purchase Orders via the CRC process and collaborate with the Document Control Centre (DCC) to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
Support the Bid team in evaluating commercial terms and conditions, preparing contract data returns, and responding to commercial clarifications. Ensure all bid-related documentation aligns with the overall project objectives and contractual requirements.
Work closely with the Commercial Manager to agree on a satisfactory contractual position for both the project and client, ensuring that all terms and conditions are beneficial and fair.
Prepare handover files as required by the Project team, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete for smooth transition and execution.
Qualifications & Skills:

HNC in an industry-related subject, or similar. Essential
Proven track record in a Quantity Surveyor role. Essential
Basic understanding of contract administration, cost control, and schedule management. Essential
Experience in working with contract management tools (e.g., CEMAR). Essential

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively. Essential
Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar. Desirable

Experience supporting bids and understanding commercial evaluation of terms and conditions. Desirable
Experience in preparing and auditing Change Control procedures. Desirable
Familiarity with the early warning and risk management processes in contract execution. Desirable
