BIM Designer (2D / 3D)

Location: Office-based (Full-Time)
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)

Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BIM Designer to join their growing team. This role requires proven experience within roofing and cladding projects, and is ideal for someone confident in producing both 2D and 3D designs within the building envelope sector. You will play a key role in delivering accurate technical drawings and coordinated BIM models to support project delivery from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Produce high-quality 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for roofing and cladding systems
Develop and manage BIM models across various project stages
Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce detailed fabrication and installation drawings specific to roofing and cladding packages
Collaborate with internal teams, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure design coordination
Carry out clash detection and coordination using BIM tools
Ensure all outputs comply with relevant industry standards and company procedures
Maintain accurate project documentation and version control
Support continuous improvement of BIM processes and workflows

Requirements

Proven experience as a BIM Designer, CAD Technician, or similar role
Essential: Demonstrable experience working on roofing and cladding projects
Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar)
Strong understanding of 2D and 3D design principles within the building envelope sector
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Desirable Skills

Experience with metal roofing and façade systems
Knowledge of BIM Level 2 standards and workflows
Familiarity with fabrication or manufacturing drawings
Understanding of construction sequencing and installation methods
