An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-growing and dynamic organisation specialising in school refurbishment projects under government-backed contracts. You'll be responsible for the end-to-end design of mechanical systems will full autonomy over your work to support multiple education-sector projects across Basildon and surrounding areas.

This is a key technical role for an Mechanical Design Engineer within a company undergoing significant growth, offering a clear progression pathway into senior design or engineering management roles. You'll be part of a collaborative team working on long-term frameworks with a steady pipeline of school and public sector refurbishment projects.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will:

• Design and develop mechanical systems and layouts for school refurbishment projects
• Produce detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and load calculations in compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Work alongside project managers, site teams, and external consultants to ensure design intent is maintained through to completion

The Mechanical Design Engineer will have:

• Proven experience in Mechanical design engineering, ideally within the education or public sector refurbishment environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across multi-disciplinary teams
