About the Role:

Working as an RGN in a custodial environment requires not only excellent clinical knowledge, but also sound judgment, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality nursing care to individuals within the criminal justice system, many of whom have complex health and social needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering primary care, triage, medication rounds, wound care, and chronic disease management

*

Managing emergency response situations with confidence

*

Supporting mental health and substance misuse services

*

Maintaining accurate and confidential records in line with NMC standards

*

Ensuring safeguarding and adherence to health and safety protocols within a secure setting

Requirements - Please Read Carefully:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet all the following criteria:

Valid NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) - Band 5

*

Minimum of 12 months previous experience working in a prison or secure healthcare setting

*

Current Prison Clearance (HMP Vetting) - Essential

*

Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service

*

Up-to-date mandatory training (aligned with CSTF)

*

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

*

Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently
