Job Description

As an O2C Billing Team Leader you will lead a team comprised of Order to Cash Billing Analysts and Senior Analysts responsible for the timely and accurate generation of billing documents, ensuring they are sent promptly to customers to facilitate swift conversion of debt into cash. You will focus on ensuring that overall deadlines are met within the team and that any un-invoiced revenue is billed without delay thus playing a key role in delivering the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the order to cash function.

You will oversee the team's efforts to maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders and provide coaching, guidance and support to more junior colleagues.

Key duties of a Billing Team Leader:

  • Delegate tasks appropriately to ensure that your team bills customers in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
  • Ensure un-invoiced revenue is identified and actioned with minimal delay
  • Support internal and external audits by overseeing the provision of necessary documentation
  • Ensure compliance with VAT and other relevant financial regulations
  • Regularly review team progress via reporting and KPI's, identifying and praising superstars whilst supporting those not quite hitting the mark
  • Give feedback (positive and negative) in a constructive manner to direct reports
  • Demonstrate confidence when robustly engaging with Seniors, 3rd parties and Customers
  • Be able to defend a position in a discussion/debate
  • Clearly and accurately delegate instructions within your team
  • Share any learning and support peers, specifically working with risk, collections, customer services, transport, sites/depots and commercial teams to resolve issues
  • Manage any internal or external escalations in a timely and professional manner, ensuring clear and concise communication is always maintained
  • Demonstrate flexibility in transitioning between sub-teams as needed
  • Be able to coach less experienced members of the team through challenging/non-standard business scenarios
  • Verify & validate the effectiveness of proposed process improvement solutions by other team members
  • Be prepared to plan and lead the implementation of solutions as and when required
  • Be able to present corrective actions/solutions as a business case to seniors and non-AR colleagues
  • Perform quality checks on corrective actions taken by Analysts

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of Excel and the ability to perform advanced data analysis (e.g. Pivot, Filter, CONCAT, IF, VLOOKUP, graphs)
  • Good knowledge of Outlook and Word, ability to produce advanced Power Point presentations
  • Working knowledge of SAP (ECC6 or S/4) OR equivalent ERP system (ad hoc report creation, working knowledge of error messages and resolution steps, basic knowledge of SD, AR screens)
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills to be demonstrated with a willingness to learn and improve mindset
  • Good knowledge of tax reporting, the need for accuracy and its impact on Culina's position with HMRC
