POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The position is responsible for the engineering integration process for vehicle architectures.

Responsibilities include:

* Design and develop the vehicle technical specifications and attributes across vehicle architectures

* Lead and resolve complex multifunctional engineering problems.

* Be able to balance competing attributes and requirements to define the optimum engineering solution.

* Analysis of current and future technologies and competitor products to ensure the future competitiveness of JLR products by influencing JLR strategies

* Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals.

* Problems faced are difficult and often complex.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

* Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross-functional vehicle systems

* Enthusiasm for vehicles and their development

* Strong communication skills and ability to interpret technical information

* Good IT literacy e.g. ability to create and manage presentations and spreadsheets

Desirable:

* Previous experience of whole vehicle development and validation

* Previous experience of problem-solving tools, e.g. Six sigma methods

* Previous experience of leading technical issue resolution
