HGV Technician
Location: Darlington
Salary: up to £20 per hour -£53,731 per year
Shift: Monday -Friday 7am -5pm + Saturdays 7am-12pm
Overtime paid at an enhanced rate

About your new company

My client is a large regional Haulage company with a fleet of 45 Trucks and 80 Trailers, they work to the highest of standards and offer constant training and progression paths. Due to their continued success, they are now looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join their ever-growing team.

About your new HGV Technician role:

Working in a team of highly skilled and experienced HGV Technicians on a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles, the successful applicants will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, your duties will include;

• Conduct scheduled maintenance and inspections
• Diagnose and repair defects, from the simple to complex
• Carry out brake tests, servicing, and MOT preparations
• Maintain accurate job and service records and contribute to workshop efficiency

The successful HGV Technician will require:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV maintenance or time served with extensive HGV experience
• Proven experience working on HGVs and trailers
• Knowledge of diagnostics, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and electrics
• Familiarity with compliance documentation and DVSA inspection requirements
• Hardworking with he ability to problem solve and work under time pressure

Desirable qualifications for the successful HGV Technician

• IRTEC or similar accreditation
• Experience with STGO vehicles and abnormal load trailers
• A Class 1 driving license
