An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a highly regarded specialist school in the Hull area this September. This is a permanent role within a nurturing and supportive environment that has been praised for its positive culture and commitment to pupil development.

The school caters to children aged 7 to 17 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. It received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection in November 2024, highlighting effective education quality and strong personal development programs. The school provides a highly structured environment with personalized attention and specialist therapeutic education. Day-to-day life is engaging and nurturing, with activities tailored to individual needs and facilities like specialist classrooms and therapy rooms, promoting social, emotional, and cultural development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons to meet the needs of individual learners
  • Contribute to a creative and child-centred curriculum that inspires curiosity and builds confidence
  • Collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team to support holistic development
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress in line with EHCP targets and school policy

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working with pupils with similar SEND needs (ASC, SEMH, ADHD etc.)
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies tailored to SEN environments
  • A commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
