A well-regarded mainstream primary school in Purley is seeking a confident, calm, and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with behavioural needs and work as part of a nurturing, inclusive school environment. For the right candidate, there is a permanent opportunity available from September 2025.

📌 Behaviour Mentor Role Overview:

Position: Behaviour Mentor

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full Time, Long Term (with view to become permanent)

Location: Purley, CR8

School Type: Mainstream Primary School

🔧 Behaviour Mentor Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils presenting with behavioural challenges

Support classroom teachers in implementing consistent behaviour strategies

Build positive relationships with pupils to help them regulate and reflect on their behaviour

Liaise with pastoral and SEN teams to track progress and tailor interventions

Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

👤 Ideal Behaviour Mentor should:

Have previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEN

Be confident with de-escalation and behaviour management techniques

Be strong communication and interpersonal skills

Be resilient, patient, and compassionate with a proactive approach

Be able to work independently and as part of a team

💰 Pay: £85-£110 per day (depending on experience)
📅 Contract Progression: Long-term with a strong chance of becoming permanent in September 2025
