Classroom Support Assistant - Sefton Secondary Schools

We are looking for empathetic and reliable individuals to transition their skills into the classroom. We support secondary schools across Sefton and need people who are experts at building relationships and helping young people overcome hurdles.

We have opportunities in secondary schools across the entire Sefton borough. We cover all areas including- Bootle, Crosby, Waterloo, Maghull, Formby and Southport.

Requirements:

• Previous work with children or teens (coaching, youth work, or classroom).
• Clear, confident, and patient speaking and writing skills.
• A calm, steady approach when students are having a tough day.

Key Duties:

• Helping students stay on track and engaged during core subjects.
• Leading focused intervention groups for Literacy or Numeracy.
• Guiding individual students who need an extra boost with their classwork.
• Explaining complex instructions in a simple, step-by-step way for learners.
• Promoting a positive and focused atmosphere in the classroom.
• Setting up equipment for Science, Art, or PE lessons.
• Ensuring student safety and positive social interaction during lunch and break times.
• Keeping brief notes on student successes to share with the Class Teacher.
