Together with our client we are looking for a Senior Plumber to join their in house Works Department in Cambridge, with an extensive and predominantly listed estate the department delivers a wide range of maintenance services, including planned, cyclical, reactive, conservation and compliance works across a large operational estate.

Role Summary:
The Senior Plumber will act as the subject matter expert and responsible person for water and gas compliance. The role involves supervising a team of plumbers and gas fitters while also contributing hands-on to maintenance and installation work. The post holder will work closely with internal teams and external contractors to maintain mechanical and plumbing infrastructure and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise and support a team of plumbers and gas fitters

* Maintain mechanical and plumbing systems across the estate

* Deliver planned, cyclical and reactive maintenance works

* Ensure compliance with water hygiene, gas safety and associated regulations

* Support legal compliance relating to legionella, water regulations, gas installations and asbestos awareness

* Collaborate with internal departments and external contractors

* Respond to emergency callouts on a rota basis

* Work across multiple sites, including use of a bicycle for transport

* Undertake work in confined spaces and at height where required

Essential Requirements:

* City and Guilds Level 2 or above in Heating and Ventilation (or equivalent)

* Current Gas Safe registration including relevant certifications (e.g. CCNI, CENI, CKRI, HTRI, METI)

* Proven post-apprenticeship experience in mechanical building services

* Experience supervising a skilled engineering or mechanical team

* Experience working in a public or commercial environment

* Ability to work collaboratively with multiple trades and stakeholders

Desirable Requirements:

* City and Guilds or BTEC Level 3 qualification

* Experience working with listed or historic buildings

Salary and Benefits:

* Salary: £51,325 per annum

* Benefits include subsidised gym access, free meals on site, and private health and dental care (subject to eligibility)

Working Hours:

* Full-time, permanent position

* 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00, Friday 08:00-16:00)
