Sweeper Driver

Location: Exeter
Pay: £13.69 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary with possibility of becoming Permanent

Berry Recruitment is currently recruiting a Sweeper Driver on behalf of our client based in Exeter. This is a temporary position offering consistent hours and the opportunity to play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces.

Working Hours

You will work Monday to Friday on a rota basis:

7:00am - 3:30pm, or
6:00am - 2:00pm

Key Responsibilities

Working independently or as part of a team within an allocated area, your duties will include:

Removing litter and emptying litter bins as required
Carrying out basic graffiti and fly-post removal, weed trimming, and general cleansing duties
Cleaning public toilets and car parks when necessary
Undertaking basic inspections of facilities and reporting any maintenance issues
Identifying further work required for specialist teams (e.g. grounds maintenance, mechanical sweeping, tree work, large-scale graffiti removal, deep cleaning)
Reporting issues affecting the appearance and safety of public spaces, including fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, damaged street furniture, stray dogs, or misuse of council land
Completing basic records such as time sheets, daily checks, and inspection logs
Following all health & safety procedures and council policies at all times
Working flexibly across shift patterns to meet service demands
Undertaking any other reasonable duties relevant to the role

Requirements

Full UK driving licence
Flexible, and safety-conscious
Able to work independently and as part of a teamFull training will be provided to ensure you can carry out the role safely and effectively.
